Monkton, MD first developed around a water-powered grist mill at the time it continued to thrive because of that available source of power. In the 19th century it became a station on the Baltimore and Susquehanna, later the North Central, Railroad. Monkton is a quick 20 minute drive from the hospital and a gorgeous setting to relax as we care for your loved one.
During the warmer months you can visit the Ladew Topiary Gardens to see the acres of themed gardens, the butterfly house, and if you wanted to you could always tour the mansion on the property as well. Then take a quick trip and stop by Inverness Brewing to try some of their homemade microbrews and grab a bite to eat at their food truck.
