While waiting for your pet to be taken care of, Shrewsbury has an abundance of de-stressing activities for the whole family. You and your family can head down to the Markets of Shrewsbury. There they have fresh produce, Amish baked goods, gift shops, and so much more! Heritage Rail Trail is also another great place to destress. The Rail Trail features a beautiful trail to walk along, as well as museums and places to eat along the way. This trail was built in 1992 that stretches along the railway from York PA and all the way down through the Mason Dixon area and connects to Torrey C Brown Rail Trail in Maryland.
If you are looking for places to eat, Shrewsbury has a bunch of great restaurants. The Mason Dixon Family Restaurant and J&B’s Grill are town favorites.
Shrewsbury is also full of history. Created in 1797, Baltzer Faust began to develop a village by laying out lots on both sides of the Joppa Road (now known as the York-Baltimore turnpike and now main street). Shrewsbury then was reinstated as the official name of the town in 1830, instead of Strassburg.
